Rebeca Gyumi, founder of Msichana Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organisation aimed at helping the girl child and her rights. Earlier on this year, Rebeca with her lawyer Jebra Kambole fought hard and won the case that was brought forward against the right to marry off the girl child at a tender age of 14 by law, and 15 by the parents’ say. This law has since been revoked, child marriage is now unconstitutional and Rebeca and her team at Msichana Initiative vowed to continue the fight for gender equality and equity in Tanzania in all fronts; education, safety and all other rights.
