Karen Walker Takes on an Ethical Fashion Initiative!
New Zealand eyewear designer Karen Walker teamed up with the United Nations’ International Trade Centre’s Ethical Fashion Initiative and Kenyan artisans to produce some unique pouches for her 2014 eye wear collection. Read more on the initiative below!
This means, each pair of new-season Karen Walker sunglasses come with a screen-printed pouch made by Kenyan artisans from local materials, with more elaborate, beaded styles available to buy. parties involved in the making of these pouches include machinists, cutters, tailors, production managers, metal workers and members of the Maasai group who created the beading work, these guys also modelled the collection!
