Smart Solutions: African inventor makes 3D printer from e-waste

Awwed! Kodjo Afate Gnikou is a 33-year old African who just made a 3D printer from scrap e-waste!

The project began months ago on a European crowdfunding site Ulule, he raised more than €4,000 to develop the idea.Using rails and belts from old scanners, the case of a discarded desktop computer and even bits of a diskette drive, he has created what is believed to be the first 3D printer made from e-waste.
It has taken him several months to put together his experimental device.
His project goal was simple, create an affordable 3D printer using recycled materials, and indeed he succeeded, the printer costed him $100 to manufacture
